Just another day...

Some pictures of everyday life:
The background is the Cyberjaya pool, then Miranda working hard at school, going clockwise there is the neighborhood mall dressed up for Chinese New Year's, the pool at the club, Clarissa working hard at school, and my attempt to illustrate the open drain systems this country employs.

Pony Club

Clarissa finally got the chance to do riding lessons:

No one mentioned Mom or Dad had to participate and lead a horse around. One good thing about being the second biggest butt in the picture is you sure can shove the biggest butt (the horse) around if you are required!

Geckos we've known...

Well, we decided we needed an ode to the geckos who have shared our lives in Malaysia...

I'll give an Top 5 list of the geckos who have left an impression:
1. The first gecko we saw, who tried to hide in the shadow of my foot as I was walking - pronounced alive but fairly stupid, he was lucky to be spotted.
2. The one I found in the leftover water after boiling pasta the night before - pronounced drowned on discovery.
3. The little baby one we found flat in the doorframe - pronounced squished and dehydrated on discovery.
4. Prehaps the most memorable, the one who smoked up the kitchen one lunch hour - pronounced fried and toasted on discovery.
5. The one that had me convinced that there was a possessed grocery bag on the floor at 1:30am when I was trying to make tea for Miranda during her elive session (school online) - pronounced alive after I shoved the bag out the back door.
I actually was terrified it was a rat... I hope I never see a rat...

We may have a poem to post at some point to the toasted gecko, we were working from "The cremation of Sam McGee", but like many projects this one may not reach publication...
